Operational Research is the area of knowledge that studies, develops and applies advanced analytical methods to assist in making better decisions in the most diverse areas of human performance. From a practical point of view, Operational Research requires a multidisciplinary team effort, requiring close cooperation between leaders (decision makers), analysts and people who will be affected by the management action. Therefore, PO demands a natural interaction between the areas of administration, engineering, computation and mathematics.
